What We Do
Marshall Case Team was founded in 1993 to give USC Marshall's most driven students a place to develop real business skills and compete at the highest level. What began as an informal faculty initiative has grown into a formalized, student-led organization with the full support of Marshall's faculty and administration.
MCT exists at the intersection of academic rigor and professional development. Members don't just study business — they practice it. Each week, students work through live cases, refine their presentations, and receive direct feedback from Marshall faculty. When competition season arrives, teams bring that preparation to the global stage, presenting strategic solutions to complex problems in front of executives and distinguished professionals.
What Membership Looks Like
Weekly Training Sessions: Every Friday, MCT members participate in a 3-hour structured training session led by Marshall faculty. Sessions focus on case analysis, financial modeling, storyboarding, and presentation delivery.
Faculty-Guided Competition Prep: Each competing team is assigned a dedicated faculty advisor and alumni coach who works with them throughout the preparation process and accompanies them to the competition. This level of individual attention is rare and sets MCT apart from self-organized student groups.
International Competition: MCT competes at prestigious international case competitions, representing USC Marshall against top institutions worldwide. Selected members travel on a fully covered, all-expenses-paid basis to destinations spanning Europe, Asia, and more.
A Community Built for the Ambitious: MCT is not just a line on your resume; it is a group of students who challenge and support each other. Alumni go on to careers at top consulting firms, investment banks, and corporations, and many remain active in the MCT network long after graduation.
